Charleston - old, weird, totally American - that’s the one thing that keeps on coming back to me seeing all this East Coast America - it’s old, and bloody, and people still have the same feelings for the most part. One strip in downtown Charleston was totally weird, it was a high end shopping venue much like the faux ‘town’ The Grove near CBS Studios in L.A. - which was like fake, fake, fake in a DIsney Outer Limits kind of way. But in Charleston, it was an actual municipal area, with like real cars man! The remains of Charleston was much like Alexandria, Savannah and New Orleans…but not as gripping. . but I have to admit I didn’t do all sites like the Slave Market and the outlying plantations.

P.S. the remains and revived Farmer’s Market that The Grove is built on/by is very cool and the historical photos are great. It is obviously urbanized and updated but way mo’ fun.
