I thought Fort Sumter would be a fantastic book end to Fort McHenry in Baltimore - A fort that signaled unity and forward thinking to a fort that symbolized disunity and collapse - everything that a sizable chunk of this country is totally good with : now. It was not very photographic though and I just got to moping about politics. But the Fort Huger portion of the Sumter was black, ominous and very resonant of the German shore defenses I saw in France.. .

But the actual port of Charleston is doing pretty good this year it seems.
